Video: Aubrey Matshiqi Analyses the 2012 Cosatu National Congress

COSATU's Contested LegacyPolitical analyst Aubrey Matshiqi spoke to Creamer Media’s Shannon de Ryhove to discuss some of the gains and losses that Cosatu have made in recent times, and what the outcomes of this year’s national congress might be. Cosatu’s Contested Legacy: South African trade unions in the second decade of democracy, edited by Sakhela Buhlungu and Malehoko Tshoaedi, gives an indepth look into the organisation’s current leadership and legacy.

Matshiqi has looked at some of the statements released by Cosatu, in which they admitted that they have not done the work that has been needed. Matshiqi said that “some of the political work that it has been doing, in relation to the ANC’s internal battles, has compromised the work they should be doing to some extent.”
